‘Shoreless Kid’/'Youth Is Wasted On The Young’ were recorded during the 2011 Holiday Season and marks the first Young Galaxy recordings to feature the band’s newest members, Andrea Silver and Matthew Shapiro. The songs were largely recorded live off the floor without major overdubbing in Montreal’s Treatment Room studio with engineer/mixer Graham Lessard.
After a successful Rockethub campaign (a special thanks to all those who contributed!!), Young Galaxy are currently in Sweden recording their next LP with acclaimed producer Dan Lissvik who produced the band’s Polaris Music Prize long-listed Shapeshifting.
“We are traveling en masse to Gothenburg Sweden to reunite with the mercurial and frighteningly talented Dan Lissvik, who despite working remotely from across the Atlantic Ocean, so beautifully collaborated with us on Shapeshifting,” says the band’s Stephen Ramsay. “Despite having never met, friendship and professional ambitions formed, and upon finally meeting in person in late 2012, it was agreed upon that we should do it all over again – in the same room and even better this time.”
